The software will automatically list the sounds between brake points, as separate tracks, above the wave form. It displays the recording's waveform and you can add brake points anywhere you want. VinylStudio comes with a built-in track splitter, which may come in handy if you record the whole tape in one file. The saved files are displayed in a list, under the Record tab, named according to what information you provided at the beginning. You can choose to record individual tracks, one by one or the whole disk or tape. Recordings can be saved as audio files, in WAV, OGG, MP3, FLAC or AIFF format. If you click the Record button, while this option is ticked, VinylStudio will not record anything until the needle touches the disk. If you are recording a disk, you can set the program to wait until the needle is down. You can specify the speed of the record or tape and the speed of the turntable or deck. There are various options under the Record tab and they can be used for recording both tapes and vinyl disks. Each time you click something, a dialog will pop up with detailed instructions regarding what you need to do or what actions are recommended.īefore you record something, you need to specify a few details, like the artist's name, album release year or genre, because tapes or vinyl disks do not contain tag information. The interface may look a bit confusing, at a first glance, due to the large number of options and multiple navigation tabs, but with a little patience you can start recording in no time. You will need to install the LAME MP3 encoder separately, if you do not have it, otherwise you will not be able to use some of the program's features.
